Review
Father Collins park is Dublin's coolest and newest park. It is wholly sustainable and it extends to 26 hectares. The park offers a running / cycling track, 6 playing pitches, 6 fitness stations, two playgrounds, picnic areas and a skate park. If you are with a toddler, be prepared that he will be fascinated by the footbridges over the lake, the ducks, the swans, the fountains, the wind turbines and the promenade itself, so it is possible that you will not even visit the playground and he will be exhausted enough to go home... However, if you do reach one of the playgrounds, you will not be disappointed. The playground located near the centre of the park is suitable for toddlers and older kids, too. At the back, there is an activity panel for the youngest kids, but they can use one of the see-saws or springers as well, while in the middle, there is even a small boat to facilitate their pretend play. Older kids might love the high multi-play unit with its curved slide, the climbing structures, the supernova or the challenging balancing structure that is combined with monkey bars. Unfortunately there is no "traditional" swing on the playground. For more information about the other playground located only a few steps away in the park http://dublinfox.com/show/playgrounds/Father%20Collins%20Park.html
